Questions
What kind of kayaks do you use?
Our guided trips are equipped with high performance composite kayaks made by SEDA. They are lightweight, strong, and fast. These boats have rudders to make steering easy, along with sealed hatches to keep your items protected. These are top of the line boats. Our fleet contains these high performance boats, as well as similar plastic touring boats with rudders from Necky, and sit-on-top kayaks from Bic Sports.

What time will we get back?
Return to the Las Vegas Strip hotel locations is roughly 4PM PCT on the last day of the trip.
What is included during the trip?
Guided trips are all inclusive. You will get personalized service, freshly prepared and tasty meals, and tents, sleeping bags,
and pads. High end kayaks, pfd's, paddles, and safety equipment if provided. Round trip transportation to and from Las Vegas, along with all in-park transfers and
fees, is provided for our guests. Choice of ATV or horseback ride on the final day. Gratuity not included.
Do you offer student discounts?
Yes! We offer student backpacker rates, which are discounted. You must supply a valid/current student ID to qualify.
Do you offer any discounts for children (or other)?
Children 14 years of age or younger receive a $50 dollar discount per person for any multi-day guided trip.
All guided single day tours are $10 discount. No discounts are offered for self-guided.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Kayakers on the Eldorado Gold tour must be at least 12 years old and paddle in a tandem kayak with an adult, or 14 years or older
if they wish to paddle their own kayak. Your guide may rearrange people throughout the day to balance the ability of the
group. ATV Riders must be 16 or older to operate ATV. Horseback riders must be 8 years old minimum. Helmets required (and provided) for
participants under 18 years old.
What kind of experience do your guides have?
Our guides have years of experience in the outdoors; both personally and professionally. They possess a vast knowledge
of the areas we visit, the trails, the wildlife, the plants, and weather patterns. Before they can become lead guides,
they must undergo strict training programs which prepare them to manage groups, make good decisions, and handle
emergencies. CPR and First Aid training, as well as Wilderness First Aid or First Responder is standard, and we
carry satellite radios and/or cell phones at all times.
What should I bring/wear?
Take a look at our packing list section, for a complete outline of items to bring. If you have questions, don't hesitate to call our office. We will be happy to answer any questions you have about clothing, hiking boots, sleeping bag ratings, etc.
Do you supply alcohol? May we bring our own?
Alcohol is not permitted during activities such as hiking or paddling. On multi-day trips, you may bring a bottle of wine (or whatever you prefer) for dinner in the evening. Safety is our main concern. We have a spotless record, and we want to keep it that way.
When should I make a reservation?
Space is limited, so you should make your reservations as soon as possible.
Are there minimum participant requirements?
Yes. In order to keep prices affordable, our trips have a minimum number of participants in order to run as
scheduled. In the event we are 1 or 2 people short, we will offer the option of still running the trip, for a
small additional fee. We will also do everything in our power to reschedule you, or move you to another tour
- even if it means with another company. If none of these options work with your schedule, we will refund your
money 100%.
Should I buy travel insurance?
If you are concerned about the possibility of having to cancel, we strongly suggest you purchase trip cancellation
insurance to protect your vacation investment. Our cancellation policy will apply in every instance, with no
exceptions for any reason. Desert Adventures is not responsible for any expenses incurred due to travel delays,

Cancellations made within those dates will be issued a percentage of their refund, with absolutely no refunds or
rescheduling within 48 hours. If you must reschedule, we require 48 hours notice and rescheduling fees
will apply. Desert Adventures will not issue any refund for leaving a trip early.
