Itinerary - Kayak Lake Mead
All Lake Mead kayak and canoe rentals depart from our shop in Boulder City. Reservations for Lake Mead rentals are required
at least 24 hours in advance - we need time to schedule drivers and staff to load trailers and gear. Last
minute reservations are sometimes possible - but not always.
Please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to your rental time.
After signing in and completing paperwork, guests will follow us to the launching point near the Hemenway Harbor
marina. We deliver boats specifically to the PWC (Personal Water Craft) beach, where you will have vehicle
access right to the water's edge.
Boats, paddles, pfd's, dry bags, and rope are included with every rental. You will be on your own, so you need to
be prepared for emergencies. It's always a good idea to know how to self-rescue, and we recommend you carry a cell
phone in a waterproof case, along with your keys and other important items.
Take along a cooler with lunch and beverages, so you can enjoy a break on the Boulder Islands. Remember the sunscreen,
and don't forget to hydrate. When you are finished, we will meet you at the beach, and pick up your gear.
Desert Adventures also rents rack systems if you want to transport the boat yourself. Racks will fit most vehicles, and are
great for people with rental cars.
Due to the size and length of certain kayaks compared to vehicles, our rental racks may not
be a viable solution. In those cases we may offer to deliver the boat for you, or require a vehicle with
Thule, Yakima, or simliar factory installed rack to transport kayaks.

Details: Kayak and canoe rentals on Lake Mead. Lake conditions are mostly flatwater, but can be choppy depending on wind, waves, and weather.
Equipment: Paddle, PFD, rope, and drybag included. Single or tandem boats available. Sprayskirts available upon request.
Hiking: Short hikes on the Boulder Islands.
