Canoe & Kayak Rentals Black Canyon
A great option for experienced paddlers, scout troops, and large groups! Self-guided trips let you explore at your
own pace, pack your own lunch, and even spend a night or two in Black Canyon sleeping under the stars.
Choose from canoes, touring kayaks, or sit-on-tops.
Round-trip shuttle service is FREE with every canoe or kayak rental. We offer shuttle service for paddlers
with their own boats or rafts. Alternate take-out locations can be arranged, should you desire to explore downriver.
If you need sleeping bags, tents, or a stove, you can outfit your whole trip in our Gear Rentals section.
We even rent waterproof digital cameras!
NOTE TO PADDLERS:
Black Canyon contains moving flat-water, not whitewater. However, some sections of the river have strong currents, eddies, boils, and
strainers. Sharp, jagged rocks hide just beneath the surface. Water temperatures are a chilly 54F degrees year-round, and beaches
disappear in minutes if there's a Dam release.
Self-guided paddlers MUST be confident with their abilities to self rescue in the event of a capsize, and be self-reliant.
There is no cell phone reception and no rescue service for tired or weary paddlers. Know your own limits. Plan ahead and prepare.
You are responsible for the safety of yourself, your group, and the equipment.
If it's your first time kayaking, if you're nervous, or if you just want to be pampered - we recommend
a Guided Kayak trip.
We also offer paddling classes bi-weekly.
