Wilderness First Aid Course
Wilderness First Aid
Kayak 101 Rescue Rolling CPR/First Aid WFA Course WFR Course

Wilderness First Aid Course

There is no 911 in the backcountry and accidents do happen! Whether you are a camp counselor, day hiker, or professional guide - you need to know how to handle sickness and injuries in the wilderness.

Learn to adapt standard first aid techniques to backcountry trauma situations with non-standard equipment. Other subjects include patient assessment, prevention, anaphylaxis signs/symptoms, injury prevention, evacuations, and long-term care.

A WMA course will take you well beyond traditional first aid. You'll learn the procedures and the principles behind them. We want you to know how body systems behave, not just how to memorize signs and symptoms. Whether you work or play in remote areas, our practical curriculum in wilderness medicine will prepare you to make good decisions in the field.

Receive a three-year WFA certification from Wilderness Medical Associates and a two-year Heart Savers certification from the American Heart Association. NO PREVIOUS MEDICAL EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.

We recommend reserving space early as there is limited space in each class. If you would like to schedule a private class for your organization, advance notice is required. Please contact us for rates and availability at 702-293-5026 .

**This class meets the requirements of the LMNRA and National Park Service policy for guide and outfitter certification, to be in compliance with the Commercial Use Authorization (CUA) permit.
