Kayaking Rolling
Kayak Rolling is a 6 hour course that is designed to by used with river and sea kayak hard shell,
closed-deck designs. Students will learn the fundamental components of the roll and improve their
bracing skills.
Participants will be introduced to:
• Learning proper boat fit and adjustment
for effective rolling
• Learning safe and effective wet-exit technique
• Learning the bow rescue
• Learning techniques for effectively rolling
the kayak
• Learning proper body positioning and head placement for executing a roll
• Learning the mechanics of a roll

**Students planning to paddle in remote areas (such as Black Canyon) should consider pairing this class with our Rescue & Safety course - where you will become proficient with capsize
recoveries and self-rescue techniques.

ROLLING YOUR KAYAK
Cost: $149 per person
Time: 9am - 4 pm

Dates: 5/1, 6/12, 7/10,
8/14, 9/4

Details: Wet exits, use of sprayskirts, hip snap, paddle technique, rolling.
Equipment: Kayaks, PFD, paddle, sprayskirt, & bottled water are included.
Skill Level: Intermediate +
Minimum Age: 14 years +
Pre-requisite: Rescues
