Itinerary
Mount up and ride back through the pages of time. Eldorado Canyon boasts a sordid history of notorious claim jumping,
feuds and shootings during the wild days of it’s past.
This horseback ride features views of the Colorado River, and explores gold and silver mines dating back to the 19th
century. Miners, Outlaws, and Indians were the primary residents of this lawless land, on this tour you will have
the opportunity to visit some of their original homes sites and experience a re-creation of an “Old West Mining Town”.
The horse trails were originally used for mule driven ore carts that carried precious minerals to the river. You’ll be
riding on mountain terrain, surrounded by forests of cholla cactus, with towering multicolored rock formations as the
backdrop for this incredibly scenic tour.
Step right into the pages of history, with a walking tour of the Techaticcup mine. You will venture deep into gold mine
which is rumored to be haunted. Explore 3 different mine shafts, one of which descend over 900 feet deep into the earth.
The hardiest of men labored feverishly looking for gold, chiseling their way inch by inch, with primitive of tools and
working by candlelight.
The Old West Town features foundations from one of the original Mining Camps of the 1800’s. Enjoy a delicious lunch
under the covered Pavilion, listening to the sounds of a nearby stream. This natural spring attracts big horn sheep,
kit fox, and a variety of desert wildlife. Look closely and you just might see a lizard or two.
Evening Tour
The evening horseback ride features a BBQ dinner at the Western Town's covered Pavillion.
